Day 10: A Clean Town

Happy Monday-

Or as Pritty calls it, The Day Before Trash Collection Day.

Pritty prides herself on living in a clean town (morally and physically, I suppose), and it appears Coral and thousands of other residents have not received that message as they gamble at the town casino and sip beer at the Tavern.

Alas, every Monday afternoon, Pritty marches up and down Main Street shouting high alert notices from her megaphone that Tuesday is Trash Collection Day. After she was busted for littering, she is even more determined to get the word out about Trash Collection Day. You cannot call it trash day; the collection word is very important to her.

She will soon return to the condo, both enthusiastic and tired about delivering her important message about town beautification. She will tell me how people close their windows when they see her coming, so she outwits them by turning the volume up on her megaphone.

Sometimes I think about removing the batteries from her megaphone, but then I realize she'll purchase a plug-in megaphone and I'll be in charge of untangling an extension cord that has been dragged around town. I try to limit my manual labor.

Speaking of Main Street, Pritty and I went to explore the new store that opened yesterday, a fancy boutique called Le Boring.

Time will tell if their doors stay open. It is nothing like The Cotton Barn. Not a clearance rack or gaudy item in sight.

I am off to nap before the City Maintenance Department happily storms through the door.

Peace out,

Hank
